We are a group of concerned citizens. We are teachers, land owners, musicians, architects, writers, landscape architects, public servants, shopkeepers, engineers, journalists, students, entrepreneurs, and more--all proud Nashvillians who believe the city's future is greater than its past or present, and that this future will depend in some part on the fate of its downtown heart. We gathered together on the Nashville Charrette (nashvillecharrette.com) to express our hopes for the Music City Center, and from there we launched this effort to form a public consensus about what sort of convention center we believe would aid our town's economic vitality and resilience, while also contributing to the fabric of our public realm: a holistic, flexible, mixed-use Music City Center that is worthy of its name.
